Folks love this car.
This Cougar is an original California car that was owned by the original owner until 2008.
Since it was new, the car's home was Pleasanton, CA.
The original owner's manual with the purchase date (Nov.
1971) is in the glove compartment.
The car passed from grandfather to father to son.
I am the second owner.
The car has around 144K original miles (The car has documentation from the original owner where the miles are recorded.
) Since it is an original California car it is all very solid.
It has a 351 Cleveland engine with an electronic distributor (3 years old).
The 2 barrel Holley Carburetor is an updated version and was rebuild.
It has a custom chrome air cleaner.
It was factory optioned with Wisperaire Air Conditioning, power steering and center console.
The air conditioning can be rebuilt if you wish by adding in a new compressor.
Power steering works perfectly.
New battery, replaced fuel pump.
The wheels are Pacer mags with lock nuts.
The exhaust system makes the car sound very aggressive and powerful, giving you the full muscle car experience.
At the stop light it growls.
On the freeway it purrs.
The car is now also equipped with updated modern radio that has the correct vintage styling, to look like the original AM radio.
The interior is all original with the original header, original seats.
Bad parts are a crack in the dashboard and some recent sun peeling.
The car runs and drives great and everything works as it should.
The car comes with receipts of work done to the car.
You also get the original air cleaner cover with the Cleveland 351' sticker.
The car was originally painted orange from the factory.
The hood and trunk have rust spots but nothing has eaten through.
Driver rear quaterpanel has some filler.
A good sanding/blocking/paint job would restore this car to it's former glory in no time.
Clean title.
The car has served me well but due to health and other things she must go to a new owner.
Asking 21K OBO- Serious offers please.
Buyer will arrange shipping or local pick up or simply drive it off into your next adventure.
