Lead Financial Accounts Technician

Performs a broad range of activities and assignments related to the operation of the Consolidated Specialty Billing Unit Program, including proactive accounts receivable follow-up and analysis, insurance firm liaison, reconciliation of accounts receivables, and payment processing and analysis. Develops and updates operating procedures for the Consolidated Specialty Billing Unit employees, assigns work and assures its completion. Receives and responds to a wide variety of correspondence generated by third party health plan carriers' and veterans relating to the Consolidated Specialty Billing Unit. Prepares collection letters and follow-up correspondence. Analyzes delinquent debts, cost effectiveness of further collection actions, and all pertinent facts and, if appropriate, recommends suspension or write-off of debts. Incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of three employees in the Consolidated Specialty Billing Unit's AR section. Incumbent, interviews potential employees and makes recommendations on selection. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
