Fleet & Equipment Specialist

For the GS-13 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level. Specialized experience is experience in maintaining, retailing, purchasing, or procurement of automotive, rail, air, bus, or other transportation equipment or services, or in the operation of a commercial transportation facility or terminal. This experience must have demonstrated knowledge of fleet operations; familiarity with Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles; and the maintenance of inventories and cost computations. Examples of specialized experience are:
Disseminated fleet policy and procedure information to managers and provided advice and assistance to ensure consistent implementation of policy. Assisted in developing plans and procedures for managing the fleet program. Provided technical expertise, advice and provided solutions in support of the fleet program to resolve problems and issues. Made recommendations to managers on vehicles and equipment replacement needs. Planned and administered maintenance programs for equipment. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT:
If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
